Effective evacuation of people from closed spaces is an extremely important topic, since it can save real lives in emergency situations that can be brought about by natural and human made disasters. Usually there are static maps posted at various places at buildings that illustrate routes that should be…taken during emergencies. However, when disasters happen, some of these routes might not be valid because of structural problems due to the disaster itself and more importantly because of the distribution of congestion of people spread over the area. The average flow of traffic depends on the traffic density. Therefore, if all the people follow the same route, or follow a route without knowing the congestion situation, they can end up being part of the congestion which results in very low flow rate or worse a traffic jam. Hence it becomes extremely important to design evacuations that inform people how fast and in which direction to move based on real-time information obtained about the people distribution using various sensors. The sensors used can include cameras, infra red sensors etc., and the technology used to inform people about the desired movement can be communicated using light matrix, small speakers, and in the future using wireless PDAs. This book provides mathematical models of pedestrian movements that can be used specifically for designing feedback control laws for effective evacuation. The book also provides various feedback control laws to accomplish the effective evacuation. The book uses the hydrodynamic hyperbolic PDE macroscopic pedestrian models since they are amenable to feedback control design. The control designs are obtained through different nonlinear techniques including Lyapunov functional techniques, feedback linearization in the distributed model, and some discretized techniques. Dieses Exemplar hat die Nummer:723. - Aus dem Text von Uwe Otto: Im Jahre 1884 organisierte die gerade erst gegründete 'Gesellschaft für deutsche Kolonisation' unter der Führung von Karl Peters eine Expedition in das der Oberhoheit des Sultans von Sansibar unterstehende Ostafrika, um im Wettstreit mit den schon etablierten europäischen Kolonialmächten die Großmachtträume des kaiserlichen Deutschland ebenfalls weltweit zu manifestieren. Innerhalb weniger Wochen brachte Peters zwölf mit einheimischen Regionalfürsten abgeschlossene so genannte Schutzverträge' zustande, die das Sansibar gegenüberliegende afrikanische Festland zur deutschen Kolonie machen sollten. Die lediglich in deutscher Sprache diktierten und vor Unterzeichnung verlesenen Schriftstücke waren das zweifelhafte Ergebnis einer jeweils ähnlich verlaufenden Prozedur: [] Einer der ersten und konsequentesten Anhänger dieser Auffassung, die einheimische Sprache eines Teils der ostafrikanischen Bevölkerung zu einem Mittel der Kolonialpolitik zu machen, war Karl Gotthilf Büttner, der Übersetzer und Herausgeber der Schriften des Amur bin Nasur. 1848 in Königsberg als Sohn des Universitätspedells geboren, ging Büttner als evangelischer Missionar zunächst im Dienste der Rheinischen Missionsgesellschaft' nach Süd-West-Afrika, wo er im Zusammenspiel von missionarischem und kolonialem Eifer für den deutschen Reichskommissar, Schutzverträge' mit den Hereros aushandelte. 1886 wurde er Leiter der, Deutsch-Ost- Afrikanischen Missionsgesellschaft'. In der Überzeugung, nicht nur der Missionspraxis, sondern auch der Kolonialverwaltung einen guten Dienst" zu erweisen, widmete er sich dem Studium des gesprochenen sowie geschriebenen Suaheli, für das er die Transskription in lateinische Schrift einführte. [] Wahrscheinlich 1891 wird Scheich Amur bin Nasur von Büttner auf den Posten eines Lektors für suahelische Sprache und Literatur nach Berlin geholt. Es ist außer einer kürzeren Fahrt, die er in seiner Jugend in Begleitung des Vaters nach Maskat unternommen hatte, offenbar seine erste große Reise. Nach ungefähr einjährigem Aufenthalt in der Stadt verfaßt er einen ,Bericht über Alles, was ich in Berlin gesehen habe" in suahelischer Sprache, in dem trotz aller Höflichkeit und Freude am Entdecken fremder Erscheinungen, die man ihm Zivilisationsstolz vorführt, auch Momente der Angst und Verlorenheit anklingen. Büttner übersetzt das Manuskript ins Deutsche und nimmt es in seine 1894 herausgegebene, Anthologie aus der Suaheli-Literatur' auf. Sprache: Deutsch Gewicht in Gramm: 550.
