This rare 18th-century poem by James Ogden of Newcastle-upon-Tyne offers a vivid narrative account of the American colonies' struggles from the conclusion of the French and Indian War through the British evacuation of Boston. The two-part structure provides a detailed historical perspective on the political and military tensions leading to the American Revolution. Written in the late 18th century, this work reflects contemporary British perspectives on colonial affairs and serves as an important literary document of the period. The poem's formal structure and narrative technique make it a significant contribution to the literature of the American Revolutionary era. Book images are non-contractual.
