The binding is tight although slightly cracked at front hinge, the text clean and clear. The boards are rubbed with age, corners bumped, spine slightly damaged at top and base, but the book is in surprisingly good condition for its age.

This rare pocket edition was issued for 'The Catholic Book Society' which was officially titled 'The Catholic Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge throughout Ireland'. No printer is given, but 5 Essex Bridge was also the address of the printer and publisher William Joseph Battersby in 1830. This copy with the bookseller's ticket of Stephen Moore, 45 Paul St. Cork.* Binding worn with joints cracked but holding, some margin wear and tears to three leaves but with no loss of meaning, otherwise a very good copy without any library stamps, inscriptions or other markings.
