Translation of the 17. newly revised edition, hardcover, a green card folio with the table of contents is tipped in at p. 746-7, the binding is shaken but remains solid, and the book has bumps to the spine ends and cover corners, a short tear to the cloth at the fore edge of the front cover, light foxing with some spots and smudges to the edges of the text block, and a previous owner's name penned to the front fly leaf with two stickers from previous sellers affixed to the tail of the front paste down. Overall, this is a solid, Good+ copy.

Richard Hering (* 18. November 1873 in Wien; 25. März 1936 ebenda) war ein österreichischer Koch. Seine besondere Leistung bestand darin, das heute noch verwendete Standardwerk für Köche Lexikon der Küche 1907 erstmals herausgegeben zu haben. Hering war zu diesem Zeitpunkt Küchendirektor im Wiener Hotel Bristol und später im Wiener Hotel Metropol. Beide Hotels fielen dem Zweiten Weltkrieg zum Opfer. Hering blieb unverheiratet.
