This is a Good Copy of this Book in publisher's original pictorial red cloth with green and black title lettering to the upper cover and spine.This copy has one former school prize plate to the ffep.The work has been nicely illustrated with several coloured plates and further b&w drawings by John Hassall.The book has a firm binding with no hinge weakness.There are one or two stain marks to the cloth at bottom edge of the upper cover with some spotting to the endpapers present.Interestingly laid in at the back of the book are two School Board For London Certificates dated 1887 and 1890 on stiff card.There can't be a lot of these left around in circulation.The book is Undated but is Circa 1910 4to unpaginated approx 70pp.

Blackie & Son, London. 1930 First Thus 80pp Illustrated hardback. This copy is bound in colour illustrated paper covered boards with green linen spine The text block is fine, bright and tight. A dustwrapper is not called for. John Hassall was born in Walmer, Kent on 21 May 1868, died 8 March 1948 and was an English illustrator. In 1895, he began work as an advertising artist for David Allen & Sons, a career which lasted fifty years and included such well-known projects as the poster "Skegness is so Bracing" (1908). Making use of flat colours enclosed by thick black lines, his poster style was very suitable for children's books, and he produced many volumes of nursery rhymes and fairy stories, now fetching high prices on eBay, such as Mother Goose's Nursery Rhymes (1909). Ref AA4.

Sm 4to pictorial boards. 80pp. Illus throughout with colour & b & w drawings. A delightful book aimed at older children outlining the work involved in delivering a letter or parcel at the time. For its age the condition is VG. There are signs of wear - the boards are a little rubbed & grubby. The binding is a little strained on the front joint. The ep's are sl. yellowed but overall a nice, bright copy of a scarce book.

Decorative Boards. Zustand: Very Good. Sandy, H.C. (illustrator). First Edition. Small format retelling of this Gulliver tale with eight colour plates by H.C. Sandy. Undated but probably early 20th century. Archive copy with a stamp to that effect on the half-title page. There is also a little label residue to the bottom left corner of the front panel. Otherwise only light edge rubbing and surface wear to the decorative boards which have bright colouring. Browning with a few spots to the top edges of the pages. Browning to the half-title page and the final page of text but the pages are otherwise clean and unmarked.
