Soft cover. Zustand: Good. 1st Edition. Good condition. Wear to book corners and edges. Marks on front blank page. Minor marks on tail foredge. Inscribed by author. Body text and binding are still very good. This book is the family history of the Mills, Mountain and Maley families from the arrival of Fredrick and Fredericke Waldeck to the Swan River Colony in 1836. In the 1860s, the family moved to Greenough Flats near Geraldton to take up farming. The book traces the fortunes and misfortunes, the good and bad times and the sad and happy ones of numerous family members from when they first arrived through both World Wars to the 21st century. Descriptions of family and social life in often isolated and desolate areas of the state make this book an interesting read.
