Soft cover. Zustand: Good+. a unique 8 volume, soft-cover Latin dictionary. Work on this dictionary began in 1933 and proceeded to 1957 employing 17 editors in total. The effort was done because of advances in the understanding of the language from recent scholarship. The publishing of the work was done one volume at a time, with volume I published in 1968 and volume VIII in 1982. All l have red covers w/black titling and the seal of Oxford. The covers are very sturdy and tear resistant, perhaps made of hemp or flax fiber, minimal wear w/sunned spines; Strong bindings; All w/clean texts. Included is a 1968 article about the dictionary clipped from a paper inside an envelope taped to the frontise page of volume I. Professional book seller with storefront since 1975.
