There is a gift inscription on the first free endpage; all other pages are clean and undamaged with very little toning. There are several outstanding illustrations. Exterior covers are clean with a little discoloration along top and bottom edges from light exposure. Gilt abd red design and lettering on the spine clean and bright. None of the book's corners are bumped and there is only a trace of wear to top and bottom edges of the spine. The dust jacket is not price-clipped. It shows very little if any soiling but does have a few small holes and many chips and tears to the edges. Nevertheless, it still looks great in a clear archival sleeve.
