Slight dusting to top edge. 222pp. This novel is based on an English academic, Dr Oliver Stanley, who inadvertently conjures up Lilith, the beautiful female demon avatar of the White goddess. This happened whilst copying out spells in an American University and although it is set in Texas, there is plenty of universal appeal and wit, enhanced by the illustrations of Ralph Steadman.
