Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book is a popular exposition of the diverse mammalian orders, illustrated with typical examples. It was originally edited by E. Blyth and considerably revised by an anonymous author who provided a free translation. The early portion was greatly augmented by the author, and the rest of the book provides an overview of the biology and behavior of the major mammalian groups. The author provides a rich exploration of the evolution and adaptation of each group. The book is based on the classication system of Cuvier, modied by the discoveries of subsequent naturalists. Many notable species are included in each order's description, with special attention given to domestic animals. This book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in learning more about the diversity and evolution of the mammalian group. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
