The final book was incomplete when Eddison died, and was finished using his notes. Eddison's intention was to leave it as an open novel, which could be read in any order. This comprehensive edition of the complete work includes an introduction and annotations by Paul Edmund Thomas, a foreword by Douglas E. Winter, and illustrations by Keith Henderson. There are chapter notes, a chronology, dramatis personae, and genealogical tables. A very good copy with minor signs of use.
